The corporate prayer at the end of the second song is a prayer that I wrote from Psalms 1 and 33. This prayer was used just before the scripture reading for the entire series from the Psalms. I find that these types of prayers are very useful to engage the entire congregation in prayer together. They are also a great way to intentionally form the congregation in a specific theological idea. For instance, in this prayer, not only are the ideas from Psalms 1 and 33 emphasized, but trinitarian theology is also emphasized so that week after week the congregation is reminded that our God is three in one.

God our Father, by your Word the heavens were made. Your Word is right and true, therefore by the work of Your Son, and by the Power of your Spirit make us a people who delight in its hearing and who walk in its ways day and night. Amen.
